Siddhas were mystics of ancient India. They believed that human race was created to excel in knowledge and help human societies form an advanced civilization on the Earth. They knew that they needed to live longer and even become immortals to achieve this goal.
In Indian context Siddhas were considered as doctors but in Western context, such people were called Philosophers. Growing up in a traditional family in India, worshipping Gods, chanting "Om Nama Siva Ya!" every evening, I always felt so much connection with Lord Siva. At the same time, there were so many questions that I wanted to know the answers for. I was confused at times and even frustrated. I did try reading many books searching for answers and then came across this book. I felt like this author has been trying to find the answers for all my questions. Once I finished reading this book, I started feeling so much peace inside. I am not frustrated any more. I know there are lot more materials out there for me to go deep into but I don't even feel the need to. For now, for me, this amazing book has everything summed up. I sincerely thank the author for giving the world such a wonderful gift! Hope millions will be benefited by this author's untiring effort of many years.Product details

This book is a nectar extracted from 1000s of Tamil Siddha poems; author has painstakingly analyzed 100s of Siddha books,
and have decoded their hidden meanings to write this master piece. Looks like it would have taken several years of effort to write this. Author has covered various topics in Siddha literature - medicine, worship, creation etc, and has analyzed them from a scientific point of view.
Highly recommend it for an earnest seeker, this book is one of its kind!
Being a longstanding friend of the author, dr. P. Karthigayan from Chennai it is a special pleasure and privilege to offer a short review of his book. It is right away clear that the author invested years of effort and time to write the "History of Medical and Spiritual Sciences of Siddhas of Tamil Nadu". The book tries to cover as many aspects of the Tamil Siddha tradition as possible. Of particular interest are the chapters concerning alchemy, rejuvenation and immortality. What is most impressive are the copious quotations from the original texts of the Tamil Siddhas – most of them being translated into English for the first time. Equally invaluable is the detailed bibliography of the mentioned texts at the very end of the book. I believe that the work of dr. P. Karthigayan will be a valuable addition to the library of all those interested in the tradition of the Tamil Siddhas. Whoever wishes to get a quick overiew of the book should read chapter 13 (A Bird's Eye View – Conclusions of Siddhas) first.
